We first attended A Better World by Design in 2009 — an innovative international conference organized and produced by students from RISD and Brown University. In 2010, we became sponsors, designed and produced the official conference journals and launched our PUSH Design Camp Block Island promo there. We also participated in the A Better World by Design Expo — a marketplace of sustainable products and services that takes place during the conference. In addition, kHyal and Karl Heine were two of eight artists selected from over 65 applicants to be part of the We Want Your Trash exhibition — celebrating the use of recycled and upcycled materials in art and design — held at the A Better World by Design 2010 Gala at The Steelyard in Providence.
In 2011, we sponsored the conference, provided the official journals for sale in the Better World by Design Store at the RISD Museum, and took part in the Expo again. Inhabitat featured our products in their story A Better World by Design Expo Showcases Innovation.
We suggest this conference to anyone in the field of design innovation, social good, or engineering for change — and, look forward to participating again in October of 2012.
